CATHOLIC YOUTH SUMMER CAMP

About This Project

The Catholic Youth Summer Camp is an outdoor adventure camp that encourages young people to “live the adventure” of their faith.  The Woodland Cabin Area consists of 4 quad cabin communities, with each quad housing 96 campers.  Each quad feature three sleeping cabins and one shower and bath house, with covered decks connecting the four buildings.  At the center of the four buildings is a large covered gathering space for fun and fellowship.  The construction of these units utilized wood framed support structures, with SIP (structural insulated panels) construction for the floors, walls, and roof structure of each building.  The wooded terrain and the requirement for minimal tree clearing provided a unique challenge in the construction of these units, balancing the space needed for access, while maintaining the “cabin in the woods” feel.  These cabins now host nearly 1,000 campers every summer.
